As a web agency with a LOT of hosting accounts (we have countless side-projects and like to experiment), we’ve got a pretty good idea of what defines a great web host. The quality of your web hosting provider can have a massive impact on your potential success.
Let’s take website speed for example, did you know that a 1 second delay means page views decrease by 11%, that means over 1/10 of visitors will just turn away for every second your site is still loading… this is why a decent web host is vital!
For those in a hurry and just want the summary, here’s our list.

We’ve done the analysis, web hosting reviews & comparisons so you don’t have to, resulting in a list of the best web hosting companies for Singapore. Web Hosting Singapore Reviews 2019
This is our all-time favourite hosting company, they’re cheap, have very powerful servers (also in Singapore), and most importantly, the support is top-notch.
SiteGround also comes highly recommended by WordPress (very few hosting companies can claim this! They can, of course, tackle any CMS you throw at them), this is an absolute no-brainer! Oh, + they have a 30-day money back guarantee!
They have 3 hosting plans, their most affordable plan starts at only $3.95/mo (67% off the usual price)!
- Very user-friendly
- Solid security setup
- Great performance
This is a new kid on the block, and they’re making some waves! With free site migrations, free SSL certificates, a super fast Singapore server, and daily backups for peace of mind… they know how to make an entrance. Couple that with a very affordable price, they’re the perfect option for people on a budget wanting a great host! They definitely get a massive thumbs up from us.
While their allowed disk space on the cheapest plan is about half of SiteGrounds’, they do throw in a free domain if you want it… and honestly, it’ll take you a while to fill up a full 5GB of disk space! They’re a great choice!
They have 3 plans, the cheapest plan starts at only $3.5/mo (down from $7.50/mo, with our exclusive coupon – “MANGO-SGECONOMY”)!

3. A2 Hosting
A2 Hosting is on par with SiteGround, they also have a variety of blazing fast servers world-wide (of course incl. Singapore) + have great support. While they don’t have the official WordPress recommendation, their performance with WP sites is amazing. + Unlimited disk space!!
They also offer 3 hosting packages, their cheapest plan starts at only $3.92/mo (was originally $7.99/mo).
- Servers world-wide
- Unlimited disk space

Vodien is a Singapore based company that has been around for quite a while now, and it shows! Great 24/7 support, weekly automated back-ups, a 30-day money back guarantee… If you want to go local, Vodien is a no-brainer.
They offer everything from basic shared hosting, to cloud hosting, dedicated servers, and even managed WordPress hosting. A well-deserved 2nd spot in our list.
Their cheapest plan starts at S$10/month.
- Easy to use
- Good performance
- Variety of hosting options
- Bit expensive
GreenGeeks is one of those companies that you just know will keep growing, and the fact that they’re putting back 300% of the energy they use back onto the grid is just an epic added bonus. While they don’t have servers in Singapore, you can easily get on their Europe or US servers, activate CloudFlare, and have a very smooth site going. Their support is also very impressive, they offer it 24/7 and have options for phone, support tickets and live chat support.
On top of that, the servers themselves are equipped with SSD’s, PHP7, and PowerCacher to get the max speed possible for your websites. They even offer a 30-day money back guarantee if you’re not happy with their services.
Their cheapest plan starts at $3.95/mo.
- Unlimited disk space
- Super eco-friendly
- Great performance
- No servers in Singapore
Cloudways takes cloud hosting to the next level!
With 25+ data centers (also in Singapore), SSD based hosting, a staging area, epic performance through the servers of Amazon, DigitalOcean, Google, Vultr, and KYUP… these guys are redefining the cloud hosting industry.
Their cheapest plan starts at only $7/month.
- Extremely scalable
- Lighning fast

- Learning curve a bit harder
Bluehost was king of hosts once upon a time, together with HostGator. Both of them got acquired by EIG, support and quality went downhill, fast! Only in the recent 2 years or so they’ve been crawling back from that. With better support, decent hosting services and performance, we can now recommend them again. They offer shared hosting, cloud hosting, WP hosting, VPS, and dedicated hosting.
As for support, they have everything from a big knowledge-base, support tickets, live chat, phone support, and video tutorials. They don’t have any servers in Singapore though, so you’ll have to enable CloudFlare if you want decent speeds from Singapore.
Their plans start at $3.95, which is on par with most other hosting companies.
- Plenty of disk space
- A lot of support options
- Only USA based servers
- Mixed reviews
8. WP Engine
If you’re actually looking for super high quality managed WordPress hosting for Singapore, WP Engine is what you need! They are the market leader when it comes to hosting WordPress sites, and with good reason (though are a tad expensive). They have an in-house custom built caching system to serve pages super-fast (called EverCache), and combined with their CDN, they are the fastest WordPress hosting company around!
Their 24/7 support obviously specializes in WordPress, enabling them to fix any issue without a hitch. On top of that, they also take care of any WordPress core updates so you don’t have to worry about it. And when it’s a major update, they actually test the site first before updating to be sure nothing breaks, top notch service. They also have live real-time threat detection, actively block DDOS attacks, and they’ll even fix your site for free if it does get hacked…
All of the above more than justifies the price tag! Interested in peace of mind and can spare the budget?
Their cheapest plan starts at $35/month.
- Great performance
- 24/7 support
- Good security
Web Hosting Singapore: How To Find The Perfect Host
Whatever your goal is for a website, and despite whether you expect for it to attract a large audience or not – you’re going to need to get any website you’re developing live on the web eventually (btw, we’ve written a pretty decent guide on how to create a website to help you out). And when that time comes, you are going to need to choose between the different web hosting options available to select the one that is right for your needs. Selecting the right one is critical for the success and functionality of your website. If you want your site to perform optimally and provide the best user experience possible for all your website visitors, it’s a good idea to take the time to understand the difference between the different web hosting options available to you in Singapore and make the right call.
Types of Website Hosting for Singapore
Shared hosting is one of the cheaper hosting methods around, and it is ideal for smaller projects and websites that do not require a lot of resources to be successful or provide an exemplary user experience. Smaller websites don’t tend to generate a lot of traffic or need a lot of bandwidth or storage space, so although shared hosting does come with its drawbacks and limitations, it’s something that should not end up being a problem for sites like that. However, for websites that are looking to generate large volumes of users, it’s wise to consider other web hosting options more suited to that.
That being said, the variety of hosting options that most companies offer is impressive. From options like PHP hosting, Linux or Windows hosting, Java, etc… to useful installers for CMSs like WordPress Joomla, Drupal, and more.
VPS Hosting, which stands for virtual private server hosting, is a great solution if you’re looking to settle somewhere in the middle between shared hosting and dedicated server hosting. VPS hosting is very much like shared hosting because the server is still shared between multiple users that the provider sells it to, but in this case, the space you are using is completely separated from the rest of the users by a partition, so your activity, storage space, and bandwidth usage are completely unaffected by their actions. Perfect for small and medium-sized websites, VPS hosting is an affordable option for web developers looking for a web hosting solution in Singapore.
Dedicated Server Hosting
Dedicated server hosting is just what it sounds like—a type of web hosting wherein the user has the entire server space all to themselves. This is truly only necessary for much bigger projects, such as large e-commerce sites and massive forums. Such projects require a high-performance web hosting solution, and dedicated server hosting fits the bill perfectly in these scenarios. However, unless you expect your website to attract hundreds or even thousands of users per day, the increased power made available to you by dedicated server hosting isn’t necessary.
Cloud hosting is a favorite when it comes to web hosting options due to its versatility and reliability. Cloud hosting, for one thing, relies on several machines instead of only one, like shared hosting, dedicated hosting, and VPS hosting do. With more than one machine being used, this means that if one goes down, there are still others in place to pick up the slack and ensure that the website continues running as it is supposed to and that the data is securely stored.
Reseller hosting is a common type of web hosting that web developers buy in bulk to sell in turn to their clients that they are designing websites for. This is much easier for the web developer than having their client choose a web hosting type and provider themselves, as it gives the developer much more freedom to be able to work on the site and ensure it is running properly to safeguard the ideal user experience. In addition, it is a much better method for web developers to be able to have heightened control over the websites that are being featured on their portfolios. If you have a web designer managing your website, they might have a reseller hosting package to offer you that will make the process much easier, as your web developer will know exactly what resources your website will need to run smoothly.
Managed WordPress Hosting
Pretty self-explanatory, it’s hosting, but focused on WordPress, with fully WP optimized servers & support. We go into more detail on our Managed WP hosting page.
Web Hosting for Singapore: Features to Research.
After you have decided on the right type of web hosting that is right for you, you are half way there to getting your website live on the web. The next step to launching your website is deciding on the right web hosting Singapore provider that will give your site the best chance of success. When it comes to selecting the web hosting provider you can trust with your website, here are some qualities you should look at (these are the same qualifiers we use for our other top hosting lists like Australia hosting, UK hosting, Ireland hosting, Canadian hosting, best hosting in India, best US website hosting, hebergement site web en France & NZ hosting):
The location of the server will have a significant impact on the loading times your website visitors experience. For that reason, the location of the servers your web hosting provider offers will be an important thing to look at—also check on how powerful those servers are, as it’s better to have a powerful server a bit farther away than one close by that isn’t adequate for your needs (both SiteGround and A2 Hosting have servers in Singapore, but to see how they differ in performance, check our A2 Hosting vs SiteGround comparison).
This is a problem you will likely not run into with a smaller website, but if you are developing a medium to a large website, you will certainly want to look at how much storage you will have with the package you are looking at with any web hosting Singapore provider. The last thing you would want is to sign up for a service and find that it doesn’t give you the resources that you need for your site to succeed.
There’s no point to having a website live on the web if it is never available for your users to experience. The web hosting provider you sign up with should offer maximum uptime possible, so your site is accessible at all hours of the day. We started tracking both overall uptime, and response times for the biggest web hosting companies on our hosting status page. Read up on some client testimonials to get an idea of what their experience was with uptime with that provider.
Hosting a website is not easy, and can quickly become complicated if you don’t know what you’re doing. Even some experienced users can become confused from time to time with certain aspects of the system. That’s why it’s good to ensure the provider hosting your website offers adequate support; at a bare minimum, they should have live chat and phone support available.
You don’t want to lose any of your valuable information in the event of a tragedy. Make sure that you work with a provider that regularly backs up the information on your website, so you don’t have to worry about losing anything important. It’s also smart to look up their methods of retrieval if you do lose the information on your site.
Bandwidth is an essential aspect of your website’s performance, and if you do not have access to the bandwidth you need for your site to run smoothly, the user experience on your website is going to suffer. Check out the bandwidth you will be allotted with any provider before you sign up with them to avoid any negative experiences.
Number of domains/sites allowed
It’s always good to find a provider in Singapore that will allow you to host multiple domains on the server space you are purchasing from them. You never know how many websites you will end up wanting to host, so look at how many domains the provider you are considering will allow before you sign up with them.
And that’s it, it might seem overwhelming to cover all the points, but just take it one step at a time. Maybe even create a spreadsheet and log all the specs for the best web hosting providers in Singapore, so you’ve got an easy overview.
It’s not easy finding a decent web host that’s actually affordable, and unless you’re an Excel wizard, it can get a bit overwhelming comparing all the different hosting features (like cost vs bandwidth, disk space, usability, support, reviews, etc.). To put your mind at ease, there are actually great hosting companies out there for Singapore that don’t charge absurd hosting prices, but still have the performance to run any website you want.
