Hostinger offers the absolute best value when it comes to hosting. The amount of features, support, and performance you get for only $1.99/mo really is impressive, which is why they’re our #1 on the list.

Hostinger started in 2004 and now have 25+ million users, and with good reason, as they consistently manage to provide quality hosting at a lower cost compared to the competition.

Hostinger scaling hosting

They have a data centre right here in Singapore, which makes site speed a non-issue (definitely as they use SSDs, and even have a custom-built caching plugin for WordPress sites).

And just in case your target market is somewhere else, they also have servers in the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Lithuania, Brazil, and Indonesia.

As for support, they offer 24/7/365 live chat. They’re very responsive and helpful.

What really sets them apart from the competition though, is their onboarding process. Setting up a website is flawless, with each step smoothly flowing into the next, which is fantastic for non-techy people.

They have 3 shared hosting plans, with the most popular plan being only USD $1.99/mo (80% discount).

Oh, and they also have a 30-day money-back guarantee, a definite no-brainer in our book!

SiteGround is another great website host, they’re still quite affordable, have powerful servers (also in Singapore), and most importantly, the support is top-notch.

They have 3 hosting plans, their most affordable plan starts at only $2.99/mo (down from $14.99)!

As for support, SiteGround has one of the best support systems in web hosting, and all their support options are offered 24/7. Should you need help, you can contact their customer service via phone, live chat, or e-mail (ticketing system).

Siteground support

You’ll get instant answers with their phone and chat options while their e-mail response is usually received within 10 minutes of submitting a ticket.

When it comes to speed, because they have a data center in Singapore (just one of their many data centers), you can rest assured that your local audience will find your site loading times really fast, definitely as they use SSDs.

For WordPress sites, they even have a custom-built plugin called SuperCacher to further optimize the loading speed of your website, it’s very impressive

You just need to enable this option in your control panel – it’s very simple to do (and don’t forget, you can always ask their support team for help).

So whether you’re looking for business hosting, want to set up a personal blog, or even an e-commerce store, SiteGround won’t let you down!

A2 Hosting is on par with SiteGround, they also have a variety of blazing fast servers world-wide (of course incl. Singapore) + have great support. While they don’t have the official WordPress recommendation, their performance with WP sites is amazing. + Unlimited disk space!!

They also offer 3 hosting plans, their cheapest plan starts at only $2.99/mo (was originally $7.99/mo).

A2 Hosting has an extensive collection of self-help articles and tutorials on their official website’s Knowledge Base. However, if you want to speak to someone, their customer support team is available 24/7 to help you out.

Having servers in the country will ensure your site speed among Singapore users. But note that they also have data centers worldwide – which makes your site accessible (at great speed) all over the world.

A2 Hosting is built on speed by using SSD’s. And as you can probably already tell, their hosting plans (Lite, Swift, Turbo) come with different speeds. Therefore, if speed is of utmost importance to you, you can go for their pricier plans that include their Turbo feature, which gives you more resources, and has fewer users per server.

Vodien has a dedicated customer support team that you can rely on 24/7. They’re mostly known for their professionalism in handling issues and prompt replies.

  • Green Hosting (300% Energy Replacement)

GreenGeeks is one of those companies that you just know will keep growing, and the fact that they’re putting back 300% of the energy they use back onto the grid is just an epic added bonus. Their support is also very impressive, they offer it 24/7 and have options for phone, support tickets and live chat support.

On top of that, the servers themselves are equipped with SSD’s, PHP7, and PowerCacher to get the max speed possible for your websites. They even offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you’re not happy with their services.

Their cheapest plan starts at $2.95/mo.

GreenGeeks has been around for more than 10 years now and their customer service has maintained a good reputation to this very day.

Greengeeks features

As we mentioned before, their phone, live chat, and e-mail support can all be accessed 24/7 – so you’re never left on your own when you encounter problems with your website.

We also recommend looking through their Knowledge Base of articles as you’ll find a lot of useful materials there. You can go there for informational purposes or for troubleshooting stuff when you feel like figuring things out for yourself.

Of course, there’s nothing like knowing there’s human help available when needed (and you can rely on them for this).

While GreenGeeks doesn’t have servers in Singapore, like we noted in our GreenGeeks review, their US and Europe servers can still deliver your content to local visitors with great speed.

If you want, you can also opt to enable their included CDN service (CloudFlare). This will ensure that your site will always be in perfect speed not only in Singapore but throughout the world as well.

And just in case you need it, they can also offer domain registration for you’re setting up a brand new website.

8. Bluehost

About

BlueHost review

BlueHost logo

URL: www.bluehost.com
Price: USD $2.95
Disk space: 50 GB
Support: Phone, Live Chat, Tickets

Features

  • ~100-400ms Load Time (TTFB)
  • 99.9% Uptime Guarantee
  • 24/7 Phone and Email Support
  • Free SSL
  • Free Domain Name
  • 75+ Apps Supported
  • Free Site Transfer
  • 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Bluehost was king of hosts once upon a time, together with HostGator. Both of them got acquired by EIG, and support and quality went downhill, fast! Only in the recent 2 years or so, they’ve been crawling back from that. With better support, decent hosting services, and performance, we can now recommend them again. They offer shared hosting, cloud hosting, WP hosting, VPS, and dedicated hosting.

As for support, they have everything from a big knowledge base, support tickets, live chat, phone support, and video tutorials. They don’t have any servers in Singapore though, so you’ll have to enable Cloudflare if you want decent speeds.

Bluehost features

Their plans start at $2.95, which is on par with most other hosting companies.

Bluehost has been around for a long time and they have a well-trained customer support team. Your experience will more or less be pleasant when you seek their help or assistance.

Their customer service is also available 24/7 so that will already take a load off your mind (there’s nothing like having available help and peace of mind when dealing with hosting issues).

They have phone, live chat, and ticketing systems enabled. They also have a help center on their official site which contains a whole lot of help articles.

Bluehost’s servers are all located in the USA. If you really want decent speed, we recommend enabling their built-in CDN feature (and use CloudFlare, their CDN partner).

With Cloudflare enabled, your site will be able to access a cluster of servers strategically located all over the world. Your site visitors will then enjoy fast-loading pages whether they’re in Singapore or other parts of the world.

Pros

  • Plenty of disk space
  • A lot of support options

Cons

  • Only USA-based servers
  • Mixed reviews

9. WP Engine

Wpengine Logo

Website: www.wpengine.com
Price: $20 (USD)
Disk space: 25k visitor limit
Support: Phone, Live Chat, Tickets
Global reach: Yes

If you’re actually looking for a super high-quality managed WordPress hosting service for Singapore, WP Engine is what you need! They are the market leader when it comes to hosting WordPress sites, and with good reason (though are a tad expensive). They have an in-house custom-built caching system to serve pages super-fast (called EverCache), and combined with their CDN, they are the fastest WordPress hosting company around!

Their 24/7 support obviously specializes in WordPress, enabling them to fix any issue without a hitch. On top of that, they also take care of any WordPress core updates, so you don’t have to worry about it. And when it’s a major update, they actually test the site first before updating to be sure nothing breaks, top-notch service. They also have live real-time threat detection, actively block DDOS attacks, and they’ll even fix your site for free if it does get hacked…

All of the above more than justifies the price tag! Interested in peace of mind and can spare the budget?

Their cheapest plan starts at $20/month.

WPEngine WordPress

Since WP Engine is specially made for WordPress sites, you can be sure that their customer support team comprises WordPress experts/technicians. This is surely important to you as you wouldn’t want anything less for quite an expensive hosting.

Their customer service is all worth it though as you can get in touch with them 24/7. You just need to be logged into your account first so that they can check your details and provide you with your needed support.

The nice thing about WP Engine’s customer service is that they’re quick to respond, professional, and reliable. You’ll always have peace of mind with such a setup on your hosting provider.

They also have a wide collection of helpful articles in their Support Garage. You can find solutions to common problems in this section of their website.

WP Engine is built to handle WordPress sites easily – and speed is one of their best features.

Aside from their EverCache technology which makes their hosting fast (even for Singapore users), you can also enable the CDN feature. Doing so will dispatch your content to cloud servers located in different parts of the world to make your content available (at great speed) for worldwide users.

Honestly, when it comes to quality business hosting, it’s hard to find someone better… if you can afford it.

How To Choose a Singaporean Web Host

Whatever your goal is for your Singaporean website, and despite whether you expect for it to attract a large audience or not (looking at the increase of internet users in Singapore, it’s looking good) – you’re going to need to get any website you’re developing live on the web eventually (btw, we’ve written a pretty decent guide on how to create a website to help you out).

When it comes to selecting the web hosting provider you can trust with your website, here are some qualities you should look at (these are the same factors we use for our other top hosting lists like best Australian hostingtop UK web hostingtop Canadian hostingbest hosting in IndiaBest website hosting for Malaysia & best NZ hosting):

Server Location

The location of the server will have a significant impact on the loading times your website visitors experience.

server location map

For that reason, the location of the servers your web hosting provider offers will be an important thing to look at—also check on how powerful those servers are, as it’s better to have a powerful server a bit farther away than one close by that isn’t adequate for your needs (both SiteGround and A2 Hosting have servers in Singapore, but to see how they differ in performance, check our A2 Hosting vs SiteGround comparison).

Storage

This is a problem you will likely not run into with a smaller website, but if you are developing a medium to a large website, you will certainly want to look at how much storage you will have with the package you are looking at with any web hosting Singapore provider. The last thing you would want is to sign up for a service and find that it doesn’t give you the resources that you need for your site to succeed.

Uptime

There’s no point to having a website live on the web if it is never available for your users to experience. The web hosting provider you sign up with should offer maximum uptime possible, so your site is accessible at all hours of the day. We started tracking both overall uptime, and response times for the biggest web hosting companies on our hosting status page. Read up on some client testimonials to get an idea of what their experience was with uptime with that provider.

Security

Having decent security measures in place will save you a lot of trouble down the road. By default, you should check if the web host offers free SSL certificates (https), as it’s pretty much a must these days, even for sites that don’t have any type of credit card processing on-site. Google also wants to see sites that have an SSL certificate installed and will rank them higher in its search results.

SSL sertificates

Some web hosts charge for SSL certificates, and it makes sense for the more complex ones (there are 3 types: Extended Validation (EV), Organization Validation (OV), and Domain Validation (DV) SSL Certificates), but the basic ones should definitely be free. And if they’re not, you can get a free one on letsencrypt.org.

Support

Hosting a website is not easy, and can quickly become complicated if you don’t know what you’re doing. Even some experienced users can become confused from time to time with certain aspects of the system. That’s why it’s good to ensure the provider hosting your website offers adequate support; at a bare minimum, they should have live chat and phone support available.

Backups

You don’t want to lose any of your valuable information in the event of a tragedy. Make sure that you work with a provider that regularly backs up the information on your website, so you don’t have to worry about losing anything important. It’s also smart to look up their methods of retrieval if you do lose the information on your site. Having a daily backup service is ideal, but even weekly should be ok.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth is an essential aspect of your website’s performance, and if you do not have access to the bandwidth you need for your site to run smoothly, the user experience on your website is going to suffer. Check out the bandwidth you will be allotted with any provider before you sign up with them to avoid any negative experiences.

Types of Website Hosting for Singapore

Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is one of the best cheaper hosting solutions around, and it is ideal for smaller projects and websites that do not require a lot of resources to be successful or provide an exemplary user experience. Smaller websites don’t tend to generate a lot of traffic or need a lot of bandwidth or storage space, so although shared hosting does come with its drawbacks and limitations, it’s something that should not end up being a problem for sites like that. However, for websites that are looking to generate large volumes of users, it’s wise to consider other web hosting options more suited to that.

hosting graphic

That being said, the variety of hosting options that most companies offer is impressive. From options like PHP hostingLinux or Windows hosting, Java, etc… to useful installers for CMSs like WordPress Joomla, Drupal, and more. It’s a great hosting solution for small business sites.

VPS Hosting

VPS Hosting, which stands for virtual private server hosting, is a great solution if you’re looking to settle somewhere in the middle between shared hosting and dedicated server hosting. VPS hosting is very much like shared hosting because the server is still shared between multiple users that the provider sells it to, but in this case, the space you are using is completely separated from the rest of the users by a partition, so your activity, storage space, and bandwidth usage are completely unaffected by their actions. Perfect for small and medium-sized websites, VPS hosting is an affordable option for web developers looking for a web hosting solution in Singapore.

Dedicated Server Hosting

Dedicated server hosting is just what it sounds like—a type of web hosting wherein the user has the entire server space all to themselves. This is truly only necessary for much bigger projects, such as large e-commerce sites and massive forums. Such projects require a high-performance web hosting solution, and dedicated server hosting fits the bill perfectly in these scenarios. However, unless you expect your website to attract hundreds or even thousands of users per day, the increased power made available to you by dedicated server hosting isn’t necessary.

Cloud Hosting

Cloud hosting is a favorite when it comes to web hosting options due to its versatility and reliability. Cloud hosting, for one thing, relies on several machines instead of only one, like shared hosting, dedicated hosting, and VPS hosting do. With more than one machine being used, this means that if one goes down, there are still others in place to pick up the slack and ensure that the website continues running as it is supposed to and that the data is securely stored.

Managed WordPress Hosting

Pretty self-explanatory, it’s hosting, but focused on WordPress, with fully WP optimized servers & support. We go into more detail on our Managed WP hosting page.
